Trina Solar's 210+N-type modules set another world record with an efficiency of 24.24%!

On August 24, 2022, Trina Solar’s State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology announced that its self-developed Vertex Supreme High-efficiency N-type monocrystalline silicon module is based on 66 210 mm×210 mm high-efficiency N-type i-TOPCon cells.Tested and certified by the authoritative third-party TÜV North Germany, the module window efficiency reached 24.24%, creating a new world record for the window efficiency of large-area industrialized N-type monocrystalline silicon i-TOPCon battery modules.

On March 10 this year, Trina Solar took the lead in realizing an i-TOPCon cell with an efficiency of up to 25.5% on a 210 mm×210 mm large-area N-type substrate, creating a large-area industrialized N-type monocrystalline silicon i-TOPCon cell New world record for efficiency.

This time, researchers from the State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology used self-developed large-area 210mm N-type i-TOPCon solar cells to overcome the new multi-busbar (MBB) and high-density packaging technology, and developed a multi-slice to reduce series connection. The loss technology achieves a window conversion efficiency of 24.24% on a large-area photovoltaic module with a window area of 2.807m².

"We are very pleased to announce the latest achievements of the R&D team in the State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology, which is the first time in the industry to prove that the window efficiency of large-area industrialized high-efficiency N-type monocrystalline silicon i-TOPCon modules exceeds 24%" , Dr. Chen Yifeng, head of Trina Solar Technology Engineering Center, said, "This is the 25th world record set by Trina Solar in the technical field. Trina's technical team is committed to technological innovation and the industrialization of technological achievements, leading the development of the industry ,creating value for customers."

Since the first mass production of N-type modules in 2018, Trina Solar's high-efficiency and high-power N-type modules have been widely recognized by the market and have been used in power stations and distributed scenarios. TRW strategically deploys and continues to lead the next generation of high-efficiency N-type technology, and is committed to creating greater value for customers. In 2022, Trina Solar's N-type i-Topcon cell module production capacity will reach 8GW. This series of module products is based on the advanced 210 technology platform, superimposed N-type cell technology and high-reliability module design, bringing higher power generation to global customers. Safe and reliable performance, while bringing a more extreme green technology aesthetic experience to home users.123.jpg
